From the top, the first block is printed in a deep purple, the second block is overprinted with primrose yellow and then a close-up of some of the crowd of passengers at the bottom. It’s looking fine at the moment but this is where it all went wrong last time….

Thanks Elizabeth – but as far as finishing the prints goes, it may be a question of checking back in 2020 (sigh)
Thank you for showing your process Gail – I see that you print your dark colour first and then your lighter one on the top. Some of the books etc about lino printing usually say to print the lighter colours first – is there any reason that you print the darker first?

It's only because the darker the first colour is, the more it shows through the subsequent ink layers. If it was too pale, it wouldn't have any effect…
